On May 5th, 2012 INVICTUS Sports Group announced the joining of one of the best Polish young talents, Michal Michalak. Shooting guard of 196 cm born on November 2nd, 1993 in Pabianice, Poland, he is already a member of the Polish Youth National Teams, where he collected very important experiences: in 2011 he played at the U18 European Championship in Wroclaw averaging 11.7 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.9 assist, and at the U19 World Championship in Latvia averaging 17.4 points (5th absolute), 6.1 rebounds and 2.0 assist, and previously he won the silver medal in 2010 at the U17 World Championship in Germany with 13.0 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.1 assist and also played at the U18 European Championship 2010 in Lithuania (5.0 points, 2.4 rebounds) and at the U16 European Championship 2009 in Lithuania (13.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists, semifinalist). With clubs, he grew up between Lodz and Warsaw. In 2011/2012 he played the first half of the season with AZS Warsaw (19 games, 7.2 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 16 minutes per game, then he moved to LKS Lodz, playing 13 games always as a starter with great stats, scoring 17.2 points per game in 34 minutes - shooting with 43% from 2pt, 40% from 3pt and 75% from freethrows - more 6.3 rebounds and 3.4 assists for a personal ranking of 15.2. He represents one of the greatest young talents of the Polish basketball for the next future, as he already showed deserving the call to play at the Nike Hoop Summit 2012 in Portland, in which he played 13 minutes scoring 5 points with 2 assists and 1 rebound in a 84-75 win for Team World Selection versus the USA Selection. Two months later, on July 18th, the agency of Zoran Savic announced a new very important step for Michal, who signed a three-year contract for Trefl Sopot, finalist of PLK League in the previous season, to compete at the highest level in Poland and also make a very important experience in the Eurocup. Previously, during the summer he played the U20 European Championship with the jersey of Poland performing really well, with 10.1 points more 4.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 8 games, confirming the great development that he is running. And finally he began the 2012/2013 season in the best way possible, conquesting the Polish Supercup with Trefl Sopot at the end of September coached by Zan Tabak (who then moved to Caja Laboral after 8 games, with the team 1st placed in the league), as well as at the half of February he also won the IBC Polish National Cup, performing very well in the three final games. And the season is continuing, with Michal Michalak continuing to make big step forwards...
